Sprague Atoms are made in the USA, and are the finest electrolytic capacitors available. They were used as original equipment in many vintage amplifiers, including Fender, Ampeg, Magnatone and many others. Electrolytic capacitors are used primarily in power supplies, and should be replaced after 20 years or so. Bad electrolytic capacitors are the most common cause of hum, pops, and poor amplifier performance. A higher voltage capacitor can be substituted for a lower voltage one.
