EL84/6BQ5
The EL84 was introduced by Mullard in 1953 and is a very popular power pentode tube. Originally designed for use in radios, it is now used in many modern guitar amplifiers like the Vox AC15, Vox AC30, and Fender Blues Jr. It has a higher input sensitivity than the 6V6, making it easier to overdrive into power amp distortion.
